You can also see various species of Himalayan birds here. You can have a world famous trek of Tungnath temple the third hoilest temple among panch kedars, from Tungnath you can trek further to Chandrshilla from here you can have fascinating view of Trishul, Nanda devi & chaukhambha peaks. Chopta also popularly known as “Switzerland of India”, lies 29 km from Ukhimath and 162 kms from Rishikesh on the road from Gopeshwar to Guptkashi.

 How to reach

By air: The closest airport is Jollygrant airport at a distance of 250 kms. Private taxis are available.

By train: Rishikesh & Haridwar both Railway stations are the closest rail-head to Chopta approx. 230 Kms away. Commercial taxis and private cars are available for your onward journey to Chopta from there.

By road: If you coming from Delhi an overnight bus from Anand Vihar Inter State Bus Terminal will drop you at Rishikesh. You can take a private or local taxi to Chopta from there. From all other places/ cities of Uttrakhand it is well connected.
