Lohaghat is situated in the banks of the river named Lohawati and what makes it a major destination among tourists is the beauty of the temples that are located in and around the city. Being an old city the city of Lohaghat is also famous among the historians other than tourists because one could get immense information about the history of the ancient era. The famous Mayawati Ashram which is also popularly known as the Adwaita Ashram is situated close to this small city. So it is also an ideal place for the devotees to visit this place as refreshment.

Being itself a tourist friendly spot, Lohaghat is also situated very close to so and me other very famous tourist spots such as Shyamla Taal, Abbot Mount, Vanasur fort, Galchaura and the Forti viilage. As per the Hindu methodology the city is been dedicated to the Hindu God or Lord, Lord Shiva. The place is been famous not only for attracting tourists from all over the world but also for the celebrations such as Holi and Janmashtami. For the purpose of shopping there is a small local market that is the Khadi Bazaar.

One can reach Lohaghat in all the possible ways of transportation such as road; rail as well as through airways. The nearest railway station is the Tanakpur railway station. This is been located at a distance of 90 km away from the city of Lohaghat. The one who wishes to come by means of an airplane can also the facility of the Naini Saini Airport, which is been the nearest airport. One should always view this natural beauty once in a life.
