A small picturesque village is approximately 15 Kms far from main city of Nainital famous for Bird watching and jungle camping activites. Bang on lap of Shivalik range of great Himalayan region it’s a small beautiful village which is occasionally called paradise for bird watchers having more than 280 spices of Himalayan birds. Lammergeier, Himalayan griffon, blue-winged minla, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, rufous-bellied woodpecker, rufous-bellied niltava, khalij pheasant etc. are mainly soppted birds over there. This area is also a rich habitat for Faunas Leopard, beer, Himalayan martins, barking deer, ghoral, sambhar deer, wild boar etc also commonly can sighted. The entire village area is surrounded by Oak and Pine trees, where sometimes you also find Rhododendron trees which makes this place is heaven like place for tourists.

Camping: Camping in lap of himalya under open sky is another wonderful experience one can do in Pangot.
Trekking: Pangot village situated in lap of Himalayan region, a diversity full of flora and fauna which gives you enoumous exposure to walk out in jungle. There are many trekking and hiking routes since Britisher’s time, i.e. one can do famous Cheena baba peak trek.
Bird watching: Pangot have approx. 300 spices of birds and in season many migrant birds too. To name a few lammergeier, Himalayan griffon, blue-winged minla, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, rufous-bellied woodpecker, rufous-bellied niltava, khalij pheasant etc can sighted with patience.
How to reach
By Train / By Road: The nearest railway station to Pangot is located in Kathgodam, which is 50 km away from here. For Nainital you can take Taxi from Kathgodam, from Nanital its just 15 Kms or approx. 40 minutes jungle drive. By Road you can take straight 11 hours drive to Pangot from Delhi. Nainital is well connected from all major cities by road. Pangot is just 18 Kms from Nainital can private taxi’s can be hired to reach the place.
By Air : The closest airport is at Pantnagar, which is placed around 3 hours drive away. Pantanagar have few scheduled flights from Delhi.
