RAMGARH

RAMGARH is also a very famous hill station which is located in the Nainital District of Uttarakhand. One can see this small hill station turned tourist spot during his travel to Muktheshwar. The must see in Ramgarh is the apple orchard. This hill station is one among the very few others which has the capacity to offer an unobstructed view of the Himalayas during the snowy seasons when the entire Himalayan range would be filled with snow.

Ramgarh is also associated with many famous personalities, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Narain Swami being some of them. The very famous Indian poet Rabindra Nath Tagore has established his Ashram over here where as the renowned social worker Narain Swami has also established his Ashram at Ramgarh. The famous writer Mahadevi Varma, who wrote the story Lachma, there is been a dedicated library over there.

The Location of Ramgarh

Being a hill station, the city of Ramgarh is located at an average altitude of around 1,518 meters above the sea level. This is approximately equal to 4,980 feet. On the other hand if we go for the range of the elevation we could see that the Lower valley that is the Talla Ramgarh Valley is 1400 meters in altitude where as the upper region that is the Malla Ramgarh is around 1900 meters above the sea level. So this contributes to the above said average figure of 1,518 meters.
